EmTroniX at Luxembourg Space Resources Week 2025

Shaping the Future of Space Resource Utilisation

Earlier this week, EmTroniX colleagues attended the 7th annual Luxembourg Space Resources Week, held at the European Convention Centre in Ville de Luxembourg.

This flagship event, organised by the European Space Resources Innovation Centre (ESRIC) in partnership with the European Space Agency (ESA), the Luxembourg Space Agency (LSA), and the Luxembourg Institute for Science and Technology (LIST), once again brought together the world’s leading experts in space resource prospecting, exploration, and exploitation.

Key Outcomes from Space Resources Week 2025

This year’s conference was marked by a strong focus on actionable steps for the next five years, aiming to accelerate the realisation of sustainable space resource utilisation. Highlights included:

  • Advances in prospecting and mapping resources on the Moon, Mars, and asteroids, with new mission concepts and measurement techniques unveiled.
  • Breakthroughs in extraction and processing technologies, such as in-situ resource utilisation (ISRU) for oxygen, metals, and water ice, essential for future lunar and Martian habitats.
  • Presentations on architectures enabling in-space refuelling and construction using space-derived materials, which are critical for long-term space exploration.
  • Interactive technology demonstrations and business pitches from early-stage ventures, fostering collaboration between established players and innovative startups.
  • In-depth discussions on legal, regulatory, and economic frameworks, reflecting Luxembourg’s leadership since the adoption of the 2017 Space Resource Utilisation Law.
