A Prestigious National Appointment

EmTroniX is proud to announce that team member Ankit Khanal has been appointed to Nepal’s National Space and Astronautics Advisory Committee, a high-level advisory body operating under the Government of Nepal’s Ministry of Education, Science and Technology.

The committee supports the Government of Nepal in shaping national policy related to space science, satellite technology, astronomy, research priorities, and international cooperation. Membership is granted to a select group of experts recognised for their professional expertise and their ability to provide strategic guidance on the country’s emerging space ambitions.

Supporting National Space Policy and Strategy

Ankit Khanal has been appointed for a three-year term, reflecting the confidence placed in his experience and international engagement within the global space community. In this role, he will contribute to policy discussions, support the prioritisation of space research and technology initiatives, and provide recommendations related to Nepal’s participation in international space programmes and partnerships.

The advisory committee also plays an important role in strengthening coordination between government institutions, academia, industry, and international organisations. Ankit’s professional background and global network position him well to contribute to these efforts and to support constructive international collaboration in space-related activities.

A Diverse Group of National and International Experts

The advisory committee brings together a group of professionals representing Nepal’s growing space and astronomy ecosystem, alongside its international connections. The appointed members include Mr. Mohan Tamang (March 24 Orbitals), Dr. Aakash Mark (Antariksh Pratisthan Nepal), Mr. Oshan Sharma Kattel (Nepal Astronomical Society), Mr. Anmol Mittal (NESRA), and of course Mr. Ankit Khanal (representing the International Astronautical Federation).

Together, the committee members contribute expertise spanning satellite entrepreneurship, scientific research, astronomy outreach, space policy, and international cooperation. Their combined experience is expected to support Nepal’s long-term strategic approach to space science and technology development.
