Versatile Platform
VILSA XDL is the first in a new series of high-speed transceivers products, built on EmTroniX powerful next generation software defined platform. VILSA—short for Villsäiteg (versatile in Luxembourgish)—reflects both the adaptability of the platform and our Luxembourg heritage in advanced space electronics.
Powerful Performance
At the heart of the VILSA XDL is the advanced Zynq® Ultrascale+ System on Chip (SoC), enabling rapid, reliable processing of the payload data, while being future proof for additional processing capabilities in later iterations.
High-Speed Communication
VILSA XDL implements DVB-S2X modulation standard. This off-the-shelf X-Band Downlink transmitter allows downlink data rates with very high net rates up to >800 Mbps. Using up to APSK 32/64, VILSA XDL enables configurable symbol rates up to 200 MSymbols/s.
Leading-edge Transmitter
VILSA XDL is based on the multi-band fully synchronous transceiver module of the VILSA architecture, offering multi RF channels all precisely synchronized by an advanced clock tree. This will allow to add more channels in different bands to future products of this new transceivers series.
VILSA XDL includes a configurable high-power amplification stage for one X-Band downlink (Tx) signal (8.025 – 8.400 GHz), reaching up to +38 dBm of RF Power. A deep-space filter can be added to ensure compatibility with deep-space frequency
The main processing board is powered by a Zynq® UltraScale+ SoC, which supports standard interfaces such as CAN and RS422 for the telemetry and high-speed Gigabit Ethernet for the payload data.

- Embedded supervision system to ensure robust operation.
Our VILSA technology is currently used on the HERA planetary mission on the Juventas spacecraft, on its way to asteroid Dydimos. It is the heart of the low frequency radar that will map the asteroid.
